The Caucasian Lynx: In Full View

Native to Armenia, the Caucasian Lynx is the third largest predator in Europe. Like most wild cats, the lynx is a very elusive species, avoiding any unknown objects, making it exceptionally difficult to monitor them with trap cameras.

Last December, for the first time, FPWC’s cameras in the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge (CWR) captured a front view footage of the lynx – where the wild cat makes full eye contact with the camera.

The presence of the Caucasian Lynx in the CWR has been confirmed through previously recorded videos. However, this is the first full view footage of the animal, showing the results of successful trap camera monitoring in the refuge.
